Purple Magpie Mandarin offers full-time daycare services for parents, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. A home-cooked lunch is included so parents only need to take care of drop off and pickup. Rest easy and let us help you!
Small groups
Children receive personal attention and supervision with small class sizes. Purple Magpie Mandarin targets a 4:1 child to caretaker ratio, so our teachers have the time to work with every child on a small group and individual basis.
Chinese immersion
Our immersive approach helps children to learn spoken and basic written Mandarin through osmosis and structured lessons. Purple Magpie Mandarin also teaches children about Chinese culture through fun activities, games, songs, and dance.

Especially in the multi-cultural melting pot of Los Angeles, children who may look different than their classmates need to be able to understand the culture they come from and be able to be proud of their heritage, so they are not ashamed of the color of their skin, the food they eat, and the languages they speak. Understanding and embracing our differences and our similarities helps build a more connected future, and fluency in multiple languages will become an increasingly important skill for children growing up in a global world.
Purple Magpie Mandarin is founded to teach Mandarin and Chinese culture in an immersive, interactive, and welcoming environment. Part of our goal is to help Chinese American children learn about their cultural heritage and feel comfortable in their own skin; we welcome families of any background if they are interested.
